Holy Hormones, Batman!
I cannot stop crying! It's been a stressful day, but now I'm just sitting here eating dinner watching the Ravens vs. Browns game. Sounds pretty chill, right? You'd think so, but I can't stop crying! What the heck?! A little more than 4 months of this madness left.

I suck at updating.
All of these things are happening and I keep forgetting to update. Whoops.
Okay, here's what's happened in the last couple of weeks:
Hit 20 weeks (HALFWAY, BITCHES!!).
Had a bunch of maternity photos taken.
Had my anatomy scan (in depth ultrasound).
Celebrated our two year anniversary.
Went on a three day trip to Door County.
Hit 21 Weeks.
Felt Baby kick!
Seriously. I've been busy.
Cory took some pictures this weekend that show my bump, but he left the camera in his car (and he's at work), and my camera cord is MIA. Once I have both necessary parts, I will post a picture. Hopefully I'll have one from our photoshoot too, but I seriously have gotten a lot bigger since even a week ago. Although, as someone so nicely told me this weekend, "I don't even look pregnant yet, just really bloated!" Super. I was hoping I only looked fat to the outside world. NOT.
I'll try to be better for you all and post more. People keep demanding photos. I'll TRY! If I have time/stop puking/feel like it, I'll post about our trip, too. And maybe tell you all the sex of this little demon child.

Screw Laughter, Cats are the Best Medicine
I am sick. Like, pathetic, sniffling, man voice sick. And I'm handling it worse than any man with a man cold ever. I think at one point, I said "I want my mommy" to my mom. Like I said, pathetic.
I finally have more than 4 days without throwing up, throw myself a little celebration, and the pregnancy gods strike again. "Oh what's that, happy non-puker? You think you're all better? How about a sore throat and a cough, mixed with some 'I feel like my head is going to explode'! Let's top it all off with a 'Haha, sucker, you're pregnant so you can't take any medicine to help you feel remotely human!'"
Gee, thanks, pregnancy gods. HOWEVER! There is hope because I have something better than drugs! (Okay, not really, but I'm delirious from not sleeping thanks to coughing up 3/4 of a lung and blowing my nose so much that Cory probably dreamed I was a whale or a foghorn or something)
Cats.
I have been a pathetic mess all day, and sweet little Bucky has not left my side. Every time I sneeze, he looks up, alarmed, to make sure I didn't just explode. And then he purrs and lets me pet him. And his soft fur is so soft and his cute face is so cute and the fact that I can't breathe unless I pant like a dog on a hot day goes away a little bit.

Normal!
No, not me, obviously.
A nurse from my OB's office just called and let me know that my quad screen came back completely normal. ::insert sigh of relief here::
Dear Baby,
You are doing a great job growing in there. Keep it up!
Love,
Your Mother

18/19 week bump picture
I took a picture this morning- it was about 8am, so please excuse the glasses/lack of make up/etc. It's definitely there now, but I was still able to button my jeans this morning. Some days I feel like baby is all curled up in a ball which makes me look way bigger. This morning I feel like I just look like a chubasaurus. Also, I am kind of pushing my belly out a bit so you can see it. it likes to play hide-and-seek.
And now for your viewing pleasure:
Yeah, I know, the myspace mirror shot. Sorry, Cory's already
at work and I promised someone a picture. Forgive me!

Labor Day Weekend Ramblings
Cory and I both have to work this weekend (for me, two shifts at Adventure Rock, for him, a couple of hours in the NICU), so our Labor Day weekend will be filled with laboring (the work kind. Not the bad kind that makes this little one come here way too early). I haven't spent a lot of time back at work yet, so two in a row might be difficult for me, especially with all of this pain I've been having. Fortunately, my boss is awesomesauce and let me leave 4 hours early today because it was slow (THANK YOU, Alicia!!).
About the pain- I woke up to a cramp-a-thon a couple of days ago, coupled with back spasms that were out of control. I was worried about some sort of kidney or bladder infection (and obviously about the baby), so I made an appointment to be checked. I didn't get to see my regular doctor, but the on call OB was fab. We got to hear the heartbeat again, and everything is fine. She told me I can use a heating pad and take Tylenol (Whoopie....), so I've been trying that. It helps a little bit, but I think my back is in for a really rough remaining 5 months. We may be investing in some sort of fancy pregnancy pillow to see if it helps. If anyone has any recommendations, I am open to just about anything! My brother joined the awesomesauce club by getting me a gift card for a maternity massage for my birthday. I can't wait to use it!
We are starting to figure out what we want to do for the nursery. We went and looked at some paint colors yesterday since Ace Hardware and Home Depot are running a Labor Day sale. We might just buy some white paint and go back later to put the color in so we can take advantage of the sale without being pressured into deciding on colors RIGHTTHISMINUTE. I also want to match it to the fabric we buy to make the valances, bed skirt, and bumpers.
Our next big step with the baby planning is moving the dogs out of their room (now the nursery) and putting them in our room. It will be nice to snuggle with them at night again! We just have some organizing to do, along with some training about new rules.
We'll have exciting news to post some time in the next week or two :) Stay tuned!
